Index Labs · Offline library

A whole survival library that still works when your phone doesn’t

The Index is a paper-like e-ink reader loaded with first aid guides, survival skills, offline maps and a full encyclopedia. It needs no internet and no signal, and one charge lasts far longer than a phone.

Your phone is the first thing to quit in an outage

When a storm knocks out the power, cell towers usually go quiet within a day and the internet goes with them. Your phone becomes a flashlight with a dying battery, right when you need to look something up.

The Index keeps the answers in your hand, with no signal needed.

Built for the days without power

An e-ink screen only uses power when the page changes, so the Index sips its battery while a phone burns through it. When it does need a charge, any USB‑C power bank or small solar panel will do.

Plain answers to fair questions

Does it need internet or a signal?

No. Everything is stored on the device, so it works anywhere, with no Wi-Fi, data or cell signal.

How do I charge it?

With any USB-C charger, power bank or small solar panel.

Is there a subscription?

No. You pay once and the library is yours.

Can I add my own files?

Yes. You can add your own PDFs, books and documents.

Does it have GPS?

No. The offline maps show roads, trails and terrain, but it won’t show your live location. That also means it doesn’t track you.
